Anthony Kim Gets the L Thanks to The W

Anthony Kim shot under par 3 of his 4 rounds at the 2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open.  The one round he shot over par was Saturday which he shot five over.  Not a great day for someone who was at -10 and amongst the leaders of the tournament. Then he shoots five over and finishes the tournament tied for 24th at -9.  How could something like this happen?  A professional golfer who plays very well the other three days of the tournament (Thurs: -4, Fri: -6, Sun: -4) shoot so poorly on Saturday? Well reportedly Mr. Kim had a late night on Friday choosing to spend a lot of time at a club called The W in Scottsdale.  Quite a popular place for “upper class” folks and people looking to rub elbows with them (read: gold diggers).  It is unclear weather or not Anthony Kim was partaking in libations but supposedly he was there til the wee hours of the morning.  Maybe Kim should save the partying for after the tournament is over.  If he shoots even par on Saturday he finishes -14 for the tournament and his winnings jump ten fold from $40k to $400k.  That’s a pretty good chunk of change.  I hope it was worth it Mr. Kim.
